The hall is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2015. “We believe it is the right location not only to supply Skoda Auto plants but also to supply other OEM plants within Central and Eastern Europe. The adequate infrastructure and the availability of technical know-how combined with Simoldes’ experience and expertise make us believe that this new facility will be capable to deliver quality and competitive products and services,” said Jaime Sa, the chief executive of Simoldes.
As earlier reported, the Portuguese company invested about CZK 800m (€29.6m) in the facility which is to be operated by about 300 employees.
The new facility was fitted with a total floorspace of 22,000 square metres, and it was constructed by Panattoni Europe.
Simoldes produces interior parts, bumpers and other components with the use of plastics. The Porguguese firm says that its injection moulding machines have a clamping force ranging between 80 tonnes and 3,200 tonnes.
